Geometrical and Algebraic Concepts of the Circle

Understanding the circle is a fundamental milestone in mathematics, bridging the gap between pure geometry and coordinate algebra. This text-based course is designed to take you from basic geometric definitions to solving complex algebraic equations involving circles in a two-dimensional plane. You will learn how to analyze circular properties, work with coordinate systems, and apply algebraic formulas to solve real-world mathematical problems. What you'll learn: Understand core geometric definitions, including radius, diameter, chord, tangent, and secant lines; Master the standard and general algebraic equations of a circle in a Cartesian coordinate system; Apply theorems related to angles, arcs, and tangents to solve geometric proofs; Calculate intersection points between circles, lines, and other geometric figures; Practice finding the equation of a circle given specific points or tangent conditions. The course begins with foundational terminology and essential geometric theorems before transitioning into coordinate geometry, algebraic derivations, and practical calculation exercises. This course is designed for beginners, students, and math enthusiasts who want to build a strong mathematical foundation, with no advanced prerequisites required. Start reading today to build a complete, intuitive understanding of circular geometry and algebra.
