Basic Geometry of Triangles: A Beginner's Guide

Geometry can feel intimidating when you are faced with complex proofs and unfamiliar formulas, but understanding triangles is the key to unlocking the entire subject. This text-based course breaks down the essential concepts of triangles into clear, easy-to-follow explanations. You will start with foundational definitions and key terminology, ensuring you have a solid grasp of the basics before moving on to practical applications and problem-solving techniques. By the end of this course, you will confidently identify triangle properties, calculate missing angles and sides, and apply geometric principles to solve real-world problems. What you'll learn: Understand foundational geometric terms, angles, and the core properties of triangles; Classify triangles by their sides and angles using precise mathematical terminology; Apply the Pythagorean theorem and basic trigonometric ratios to find missing values; Solve practical geometry problems using angle sum properties and congruence rules; Practice step-by-step proofs and calculations through written exercises. The course begins with essential definitions and classification systems, then guides you step-by-step through angle relationships, similarity, congruence, and foundational theorems. This course is designed specifically for beginners, students, or anyone looking to refresh their math skills, with no prior geometry experience required.
