Applied ICU Nursing: Complex Patients, Team Communication, and Family-Centered Care

Strong ICU nursing combines technical skill with team communication and family-centered care. This applied course teaches the integration of those dimensions through case-based modules. By the end of this course you will be able to manage complex ICU patients across overlapping pathology, communicate effectively with the team during deterioration, support families through critical illness, and integrate ethical considerations into critical care nursing. Each module presents a complex scenario, walks through structured reasoning, and produces a written approach you compare against the worked-through example. This course is written for ICU nurses deepening practice and for those moving into charge or educator roles. It does not replace supervised clinical practice or institution-specific protocols. By the end you will have structured frameworks for the integration of technical, team, and family dimensions of critical care nursing.
