Applied Psychiatric Nursing: Complex Cases, Co-Occurring Conditions, and Recovery-Oriented Care

Strong psychiatric nursing combines technical skill with recovery-oriented care planning and trauma-informed practice. This applied course teaches that integration through case-based modules. By the end of this course you will be able to support complex psychiatric cases including co-occurring substance use and medical conditions, integrate trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care, work across the care continuum, and participate in interdisciplinary care planning. Each module presents a complex scenario, walks through structured reasoning, and produces a written care plan you compare against the worked-through example. This course is written for psychiatric nurses deepening practice. It does not replace supervised clinical practice or institution-specific protocols. By the end you will have structured frameworks for integrating complex, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented psychiatric nursing care.
