Applied Wildlife Medicine: Rehabilitation, Conservation, and Zoological Cases

Wildlife and zoological medicine require integration of clinical care with conservation goals and species-specific welfare considerations. This applied course teaches that integration through case-based modules. By the end of this course you will be able to support wildlife rehabilitation cases, integrate conservation principles into clinical decisions, manage zoological cases, and coordinate with conservation organizations and regulatory bodies. What you will learn: - Wildlife triage and rehabilitation frameworks - Release criteria and welfare assessment in wildlife cases - Conservation medicine principles applied to wildlife disease - Zoological collection medicine including preventive medicine programs - One Health considerations including zoonosis surveillance - Coordination with wildlife agencies and regulatory frameworks - Approaches to ethical decision making in wildlife and conservation contexts The course is structured around case-based applied modules. Each module presents a complex scenario, walks through structured reasoning, and produces a written approach you compare against the worked-through example. This course is written for veterinarians and others working in wildlife or zoological medicine. It does not replace supervised clinical training, species-specific specialty mentorship, or applicable wildlife permits and licensure. By the end you will have structured frameworks for wildlife rehabilitation, conservation medicine, and zoological case management.
