Building a long-term romantic partnership is the work of decades. It involves conflict, change, and the slow growth of shared meaning. This applied course teaches you to think and act in terms of that longer arc. By the end of this course you will be able to sustain a partnership through change, repair after rupture, build shared meaning, and design the recurring practices that distinguish thriving long partnerships. What you will learn: - Approaches to navigating life transitions including parenting, career changes, and caregiving - Approaches to recurring conflicts that are unlikely to be solved but can be lived with - Approaches to repair after significant rupture - Practices that build and renew intimacy across the seasons of partnership - Approaches to maintaining individual identity within shared life - The role of professional support including couples counseling - The slow building of shared meaning, ritual, and tradition The course is structured around six applied modules. Each produces a written artifact: a transitions plan, a perpetual conflict approach, a repair protocol, an intimacy renewal practice, an individual identity plan, and a shared meaning sketch. This course is written for couples at any stage of partnership who want to build deliberately. By the end you will have moved from hoping the partnership lasts to actively tending it across the years it will face.
