About this course
Building a first passive income stream is very different from managing a mature, multi-stream passive income portfolio that accounts for a significant fraction of your household income. Over time, streams depreciate โ a digital product goes stale, a rental market softens, a dividend stock cuts its payout. New opportunities emerge. Tax situations grow more complex. The skills required to maintain a passive income portfolio over a decade are distinct from those needed to launch individual streams.
By the end of this course you will be able to audit and rebalance a multi-stream passive income portfolio, identify when an underperforming stream should be restructured or retired, and manage the increasing complexity of passive income as it becomes a central component of your financial independence structure.
What you will learn:
- How to conduct an annual passive income portfolio review: each stream's yield, maintenance requirements, capital efficiency, and trend trajectory
- Recognizing when a passive income stream has become semi-active and requires a structural decision: hire help, sell it, or restructure
- Diversifying passive income across uncorrelated source types to reduce the risk that one stream's failure undermines your independence plan
- How to reinvest and redeploy capital from a passive income stream that has appreciated significantly โ the sale of a rental property, the exit from a royalty agreement
- Managing passive income across retirement phases: from accumulation (reinvesting all income) to independence (withdrawing selectively) to legacy planning
- Tax strategy for a mature passive income portfolio: depreciation, qualified dividend rates, passive activity rules, and cost basis management
- The psychological adjustment to living on passive income: permission to spend, uncertainty tolerance, and portfolio identity
- Building a succession or exit plan for passive income assets that require management, so they remain passive as you age
Case studies follow two individuals โ one with a dividend-heavy approach and one with a mixed portfolio of rentals and digital products โ across 15 simulated years of their financial independence journey. Reflection exercises prompt you to map your current passive income sources, assess their trajectory, and identify diversification gaps or maintenance risks.
This course is designed for individuals who already have one or more passive income streams and want to manage them strategically over the long term. Suitable for those new to multi-stream portfolio management as well as those whose passive income situation has grown more complex than their current management approach. This course is educational and does not substitute for personalized financial or tax advice.
