I've picked up and abandoned knitting three times before. Having the knit and purl stitches broken down with such small steps meant I finally didn't give up. My first dishcloth actually looks like a dishcloth.

As a complete beginner who's all thumbs, I found the step-by-step approach to casting on and the basic knit stitch really reassuring.
