Readings introduce each major concept and are followed by reflection prompts inviting you to apply the framework to your own network — initially at an analytical, not evaluative, level. A personal network mapping exercise at the midpoint of the course gives you a visual representation of your own social structure to carry through the remaining sections. This course is designed for adults who want to understand how social circles form and function — no prior background in sociology or social science is required.
